We built TideWrit because travel planning is full of half-truths, inflated prices, photos that lie, and "recommendations" nobody actually checked. We do the opposite, and we're specific about it.
Your trip is researched and built by a real person, not spat out by a bot. We use smart tools to work faster and see more, but every recommendation is a human judgement call. A planner confirms your trip's scope before you pay anything.
Before a hotel, activity or restaurant reaches your plan, a human checks it, against recent guest photos, current prices and real-world reliability. If we wouldn't book it for our own family, it doesn't make your plan.
We quote real ranges, and we include the parts others quietly leave out: visa fees, resort taxes, transfers, tipping. If your budget won't stretch to your destination, we tell you before you pay, not after. That's our Fair Price Promise.
Our reviews come only from real customers after a real, completed trip. We never write our own, never pay for them, and never hide the honest ones. What you read is what people actually experienced.
We handle your personal details under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. Your trip lives on a private page only you can reach, and we never sell your information or serve you ads.
Every trip and tour spells out exactly what's included and what isn't, no surprises at the airport, no hidden line items. If it's not on the list, it's not in the price, and we'll always tell you.
Here is how most travel businesses actually earn. An agency books you into a lodge and the lodge pays them a percentage, usually between 10 and 20 per cent. A booking site lists the property that bids highest for placement. Neither arrangement is illegal or even unusual. But it means the recommendation you receive has a second audience, and that audience is not you.
We take no commission from any hotel, lodge, tour operator, airline or transport provider. Not a shilling, not a discounted stay, not a referral fee. Our only income is the planning fee you pay us directly, which is why we can tell you that the cheaper lodge is the better one for your trip, or that your budget will not stretch to the destination you had in mind.
It also means we have no reason to inflate a price. When we quote a lodge at $180 a night, that is what the lodge charges. You book it directly, your money stays protected under their own cancellation policy, and nothing is added on the way through.
This is a commitment, not a marketing line. If we ever change it, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
